The Yates family heads to Mt. Rushmore
We drove up through Wyoming and over to South Dakota for a few days exploring US history with Nick and his parents. While in SD, we visited the Crazy Horse monument. If you don't know this monument has been in the works since the 70s, has never been funded by the government and is still only like 15% done. It's amazing looking at this carving, how big it will one day become, but it will be years and years and years before then!
They've only completed the head...still have the horse and body to go, it's massive!We went to Mt. Rushmore looking for the secret passage as seen in National Treasure 2, only to be disappointed to find out that it didn't exist. Thankfully the trip wasn't a complete waste as Nick had a book signing to do at 2pm as seen below :)
